Shootaround Terms of Use
Last updated: October 12, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Shootaround ("we", "us"), and they cover the Shootaround app for Android and the website at shootaround.app (together, "the service"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Who can use Shootaround
You must be 13 or older to use the service, and 18 or older to send recordings or data to us. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you; where Google Play provides a parental approval signal, the app relies on it.
2. What the service is
Shootaround uses your phone's camera and microphone, while you run a session, to count your shots, call each one a make or a miss, chart where you shot from, and (with a subscription) measure your shooting form and run shooting drills. Tracking runs on your phone. The optional account backs up your session statistics so they follow you to a new phone.
3. Automatic calls can be wrong
Make and miss calls, shot positions, drill scores and form measurements are produced automatically from the camera picture. They are estimates. Lighting, distance, the type of net, the camera angle, other people on the court and the phone moving all affect them. We do not promise that any call or measurement is correct, and you should not rely on them for anything that matters beyond your own practice. The app's results are provided "as is" (section 11).
4. Your account
An account is optional for the free features. If you create one you must give a working email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time in Settings or at shootaround.app/delete-data; deleting it removes the account and every statistic synced with it from our servers.
5. Subscriptions (Shootaround Plus)
Billing. Subscriptions are sold through Google Play. Google charges your Google Play payment method, and Google's own terms and refund policy apply to the purchase. We never see your payment details.
Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly) at the price shown in Google Play when you subscribed, until you cancel.
Free trial. When a free trial is offered, it starts when you accept it and converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. One trial per Google account.
Cancelling. Cancel any time in Google Play (Play Store > your profile > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Uninstalling the app or deleting your Shootaround account does NOT cancel a subscription.
Refunds. Refund requests go to Google Play under Google's refund policy. We cannot refund a Play purchase ourselves.
Price changes. If a price changes, Google Play notifies you before the change applies to a renewal, and you can cancel before it does.
What a subscription unlocks is described in the app and on Google Play and can change over time; we will not remove a feature you paid for during a period you have already paid for without a comparable replacement.
6. Your content
Session videos, reels, clips and statistics are yours. You give us permission to process them on your phone to provide the service and, only where you have turned uploads on, to store and use uploaded sessions to improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the people who appear in what you record (section 7).
7. Recording other people
The camera records the court. Anyone on it can appear in your session video, your reels and the small hoop-area clips the app may upload. You must have the permission of the people you record where the law requires it, and you must not record where recording is not allowed. Do not post reels of other people without their OK.
8. Acceptable use
Do not: use the service to break the law; try to copy, decompile or extract the app's models or code beyond what the open-source licenses in the app allow; interfere with the service or other users' accounts; create accounts for others or share a subscription beyond what Google Play allows; or use the service for anything other than your own basketball practice and the sharing of your own reels.
9. Privacy
How the app handles camera, microphone, uploads, accounts and purchases is described in the Privacy Policy at shootaround.app/privacy, which is part of these terms.
10. Changes and ending the service
We may update the app, change or retire features, and change these terms. If a change matters we will say so in the app or on the site, and the "Last updated" date will change. You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice; a subscription period already paid for is handled under Google Play's policy.
11. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results. Some places do not allow this exclusion, in which case it applies to the extent the law allows.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or injury arising from your use of the service (including playing basketball while using it). Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where Google Play's terms apply to a purchase, they govern that purchase.
