Every rep counted. No counting.

Prop your phone on any cheap tripod or water bottle, start a session, and shoot. Shootaround watches the hoop and calls every make and miss for you.

Automatic make / miss

Every shot is called in real-time and displayed on the screen.

See where you shoot

A real shot chart after every session: makes and attempts by zone (rim, paint, baseline, elbows, top of the key) with your percentage in each.

Session stats

Overall, twos and threes, free-throw-line shooting, longest make streak, average distance. Session history shows whether the work is working.

Any court, any hoop

Park courts, driveways, gyms. One quick lineup per session: put the hoop in the box, then forget the phone is there.

Finds the court by itself

Set the phone down and the app locks onto the hoop and the court lines automatically. No measuring, no markers, no setup taps.

Private by design

Everything runs on your phone. No account, no sign-up, no ads, no tracking. Beta testers also help improve tracking by sending session data to the developer, which you can turn off in Settings.

Your session, cut down to your shots

Forty minutes of shooting is mostly rebounds and walking. When you end a session, Shootaround trims all of that out by itself and stitches every shot into one reel: the ball leaving your hands, the call, the running count, and your shot chart at the end. It's saved to your phone, ready to post.

  • Automatic. The reel is waiting in your gallery after every session.
  • Your cut. Makes only, threes only, a shorter version: re-cut it from the share sheet.
  • One tap to share. Sized for your phone, with the call and the count on screen.

See your shot, frame by frame

Put the phone off to the side and Shootaround measures your shooting form on every shot: release time, launch angle, release height, elbow at the set point and at release, knee and hip bend, follow-through. Then it shows you the frames behind the numbers, one shot at a time, so you can see what they look like on you.

0.97 sCatch to release
68°Launch angle
1.51×Release height, in standing heights
167°Elbow at release
142°Knee bend
0.80 sFollow-through

One real shot from a beta session, measured by the app. It works from any angle; a side view measures the most, and every number comes with an honest range for the angle it was measured from.

How it works

  1. Set the phone down 10 to 25 feet from the basket. Any tripod or ledge works.
  2. Line up the hoop in the on-screen box. That's the whole setup.
  3. Shoot. Makes and misses are called live and land on your shot chart when you're done.

Now recruiting beta testers

Shootaround is in closed beta. If you put up solo reps and want your practice to count, we want the tracker on your court. Different hoops, nets, and lighting make it better for everyone. Testers get the app free, shoot 2–3 normal sessions, and tell us what it got right and wrong.
